Stumbling upon an Open House = First Home Purchase!

Stumbling upon an Open House = First Home Purchase!

I first met Zoe and Peter at my office in Uptown – they were getting prepped for their wedding in August and wanted to make sure they had a house locked down before their attention started getting pulled in a million different directions. With this being their first home purchase, they were pretty flexible with most aspects of their search – as long as it was in good shape and in a good neighborhood, they were willing to take a look!

I got a call from Zoe a few days after our consult saying she had stumbled upon an open house while driving through Hopkins – and had fallen in love. The house went into multiple offers immediately and we hit the ground running to put together an offer. A few hours later, we were alerted that we got it! We got through the inspection contingency without a hitch (except for a mystery hole in the back yard that we were able to get sorted out) and it was on to clo ...

Twin Cities Market Update – July 1, 2014

Twin Cities Market Update – July 1, 2014

The season of backyard grilling, outdoor festivals and extended family vacations is upon us. Those who are already safely tucked in an owned home are not likely thinking much about the housing market, but those who are fixing to buy or sell are living it daily. Not enough inventory or not enough money offered for purchase? Too high a price or multiple offers on the table? The answers are ever evolving and dependent upon location and situation. A new quarter of activity is almost in the books, but year-over-year comparisons on monthly and weekly activity may be more beneficial for those living the housing life.

In the Twin Cities region, for the week ending June 21:
    • New Listings increased 6.3% to 1,910
    • Pending Sales increased 3.1% to 1,216
    • Inventory increased 7.5% to 17,365

    For the month of May:
    • Median Sales Price increased 8.2% to $210,000
    • Days on Market decreased 7 ...

    Golden Valley Girl

    Golden Valley Girl

Emily and I started looking at homes in April, and right from the get go she had a strong idea of what she wanted in her new home. Family is important to her, and along the way I had the pleasure of meeting her sisters, parents, boyfriend and his daughter. It was fun to get the opportunity to meet everyone while looking at homes together!

We ended up finding a cute home in Golden Valley that’s only 1.5 miles away from her job location where she works as a speech pathologist. It has a large backyard where she plans on putting in a garden, and it even has an active grapevine! I know she’ll be very happy in her new home entertaining her family and friends, and I can’t wait to get updates on all the improvements she’s planning on making. I hear the bathroom’s first.

Please join me in congratulating Emily on the purchase of her first home!

A Job Move to the Twin Cities Landed This Couple in Lakeville

A Job Move to the Twin Cities Landed This Couple in Lakeville

Mike and Chris were moving to the Twin Cities for a new job Mike took in the southern metro.  We first met when Chris reached out to me about their home search. We discussed their needs and wants of a home and really focused our energies on a newer, more updated home with acreage. We looked at several beautiful houses, but ended up falling in love with a home in Lakeville. The home is absolutely beautiful and custom-built with so many custom features that Mike & Chris could not pass it up! The kitchen is huge, very functional, and has a massive double refrigerator. There is a beautiful fireplace between the dining area in the living room and also between the screen in porch and the deck. Mike and Chris will be able to enjoy an incredible master bedroom on the main level and a walk out to a beautiful yard and pond in the back with plenty of space!

Congratulations Mike, Chris, and family! T ...
